If it is in Orlando...
I am not going...
sorry...

and...
furthermore...
at this point...
I am developing a "who cares" attitude....
C5 was supposed to be THIS year initially...
and..
quite frankly...I think it is already too late for 2010 as I am sure that a lot of the hotels are ALREADY booked with other conventions, and attractions...

There is a new Con called "Cyphan" here in Chicago next year and local costume groups are getting involved...it is supposed to be a Chicago version of Dragon Con....leaning more to the adults...
they have lined up more than just Star Wars groups for this...
We have already been working the the guy in charge...
and are planning on a making a Tusken Village display..
and I will be doing a panel on Rebel/Jedi costumes for females...

so...
CV....
meh....

I agree with Orlando in August not being the right location and time. I do have reservations about going to a swamp in the summer.
But remember the first three Celebrations were three years apart and it will be three years since C4. Also C3 was announced in November then took place the following April. So it can be done.
I understand things suck the Star Wars spirit out of you. I deal with alot of that locally. But I really do want to go to another Celebration & I hope to see as many of you as possible.

Oooh, that Chicago convention sounds like fun.

And I have reservations about LIVING in a swamp in the summer. ;) So, Orlando heat wouldn't be so bad for me. I have reservations about a big event happening in Florida when hurricane season is just cranking up. Chances are that nothing would happen, but there's always that chance.

And the dates of my family reunion are set now. If CV conflicts with it, then CV is out. My sisters and I want to see the Grand Canyon.

CV in Orlando?? Uh uh noway. Too freakin' hot and humid. During Disney Star Wars Weekdns in June/July it's easily in the 90's August is worse. A differant time of year, maybe November/December.

Right now all this is speculation until they finally announce C5.
I figure where ever it is no prob---it's the when it is---is my prob.
Cphan I've already got room for it though things can change.
I think the only one I have for sure ready is Ad Con in Feb & that could be canceled on count of weather.

Absolutely! There are LOTS of hotels and restaurants within walking distance, as well as a good bus system that travels up and down International Drive.

If we're talking about Orlando here---there is lots to do, many places to go & it would be interesting to see what would happen.

Orlando in Aug. I probably would skip it, the humidity is to much for me. NYC is bad enough.
DCON, I hardly go outside the hotels because of the walkways. I think they need to announce this or forget it. Alot of my 2010 is already booked.

personally I would love it to be in Orlando. Adam's graduation from Full Sail was held there at the convention center and its a huge venue! And I would have a place to stay 40 minutes from.. but that me. Otherwise it will surely deter alot of people because of the location. Florida in winter... awesome... summer, the humidity and heat can be brutal for those who don't tolerate heat well.

My son's college graduation was held at the convention center and it's definitely a place for visitors. It's a great location... hotels/restaurants and transportation abound.

One thing about Orlando, hotels, restaurants & transportation all around---depending on about where you are at.
I know where I'm staying I was told the Publix is only a few minutes away & if it's the one I'm thinking about it's really close. I have to be sure to be able to get things for my mom. This will be her 1st Star Wars convention. Quicher will be with me along with another caregiver.
BTW Quicher says hi to everybody---she's been soooooooooooooo busy.

For those interested in going to Celebration V buying tickets is quite easy:
http://www.starwarscelebration.com/en/Tickets/Prices/
press: Order Tickets on line & it takes you through the steps. I got mine done in less then 5 minutes.

They also have a contact line (888-334-8719)& were very friendly. I needed some info because of the special needs things I'll have to deal with.

Hotels are not up yet but very soon.
There is going to be something special for Star Wars Fan Club Members but it's not up yet as of 12-10-09.
VIP Tickets---if one wants one & get one, a regular ticket will be upgraded to the VIP ticket. These will be announced for sale soon. Most likely will be announced on the blog.

Any current information will be updated either at the main site or this blog site:
http://www.mediumatlarge.net/

So far a whole lot easier then getting things done for CIV.

I live in the southeast so humdity does not bother me that much unless I am in my 501st costume. However, I have never been to a Celebration; therefore, I am going. I already have my room and signed up to be a costume volunteer. So I may wait a few days to sign up for a pass to see if I can get my pass free.
